Is Poshmark legit? The seller's answer

Yes. Poshmark has run since 2011 and has been owned by NAVER, the Korean internet company, since January 2023. For a seller the questions that matter are when the money is released, how the three-day return window works, what each payout method costs, and one new fee that starts in October 2026.

Fees, deadlines and payout times verified October 2026

Who runs Poshmark

Poshmark was founded in 2011 and taken private by NAVER in a deal that closed on 5 January 2023, at about $1.2 billion in enterprise value. A NAVER executive, Namsun Kim, became chief executive on 1 October 2025. The app, the 20% fee and the way selling works were not changed by the sale.

When you get paid

Money is released within three days of delivery, once the buyer accepts the order; if they do nothing, it is accepted automatically after three days. You have to ship on Poshmark's prepaid label. Then you choose how to take it out: direct deposit is free and takes two to three business days, Instant Transfer to an eligible debit card costs $2 and takes about thirty minutes, PayPal and Venmo cost $0.35, and a paper check is free and takes about two weeks.

What Posh Protect covers for sellers

A parcel USPS loses on the prepaid label is covered. Buyers cannot return an item because it does not fit or they changed their mind, which protects you from the most common return of all. What voids the protection is selling offline: any deal arranged to be paid outside Poshmark loses it, and can get the account restricted.

How a return claim runs

The buyer has three days from delivery to file a claim, with clear photos, and accepting the order ends that right. You then have 24 hours to offer a partial refund, where the buyer keeps the item, or to accept the return. After that the Poshmark team takes over and decides. An approved return has to be shipped back within five days.

Verification, and the scams aimed at sellers

Poshmark's seller verification policy asks for your full name, date of birth, address, phone number and SSN, and can ask for ID; details that do not match can pause payouts and shipping labels. The phishing it warns about asks for your password, bank or shipping details, threatens suspension, or comes from an address that is not poshmark.com. Anything that moves payment off Poshmark is both against the rules and the start of most scams.

Fees, and the one that just changed

Poshmark keeps a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more. The change to know about is shipping: from 19 October 2026, when USPS flags a parcel as hazardous material, the seller pays the full $50 USPS fee. The usual trigger is a reused box that still carries a Limited Quantity or hazmat mark, so cover old markings or use a clean box.

Where grading fits

Poshmark's buyer gets three days and photos to make a claim, and you get 24 hours to answer it. A 1.0–10.0 grade and condition report attached to the listing means the answer is already written, dated before the sale.
