GradeThread

Get GradeThread wherever you source

GradeThread runs in three places, and they are for three different moments. The iPhone app is for the thrift-store aisle, where the garment is in your hands and the decision is buy or walk. The browser extensions are for the desk, where the listing gets written. All three sign in to the same account and share the same inventory.

Free to install, on every plan. See what grading costs.

iPhone app

In the aisle

The decision that costs you money is buy or walk, and you make it standing in a thrift store with a garment in one hand. The app grades from your camera, checks what the item has actually sold for, and saves it to your inventory before you reach the register.

  • Grade straight from the camera
  • Check sold comps before you pay
  • Photos and measurements sync to your desk

Chrome extension

At the desk

Listings get written on a laptop, in a marketplace tab you are already signed in to. The extension fills that tab from the item you already catalogued, so one garment is not typed out five times for five sites.

  • Cross-list to Poshmark, Mercari, Grailed, Vinted and Facebook
  • Lists from your own logged-in tab
  • Your marketplace password never reaches our servers

Firefox add-on

At the desk, in Firefox

The same add-on, built for Firefox. It does everything the Chrome version does and installs from Mozilla's own add-on site.

  • Same cross-listing, same marketplaces
  • Reviewed and hosted by Mozilla
  • Signs in to the same GradeThread account

Which one does what

Both sign in to the same account and read the same inventory. These are the jobs where it matters which one you have open.

Questions

Is the GradeThread app free?
The app and both extensions are free to install and are included with every plan, including the free one. You are charged for grades, not for the software: the free plan includes 3 grades a month and paid grading starts at $2.99 each.
Do I need the app and the extension, or just one?
Just one is enough to work. Most resellers end up with both because they cover different moments: the phone app is for sourcing, when the garment is in your hands, and the extension is for the desk, when the listing gets written. Both sign in to the same account and share the same inventory, so an item you photograph in a store is waiting for you on your laptop.
Does the browser extension see my eBay or Poshmark password?
No. The extension lists from the marketplace tab you are already signed in to, in your own browser. Your marketplace password and session cookies never leave your machine and GradeThread's servers never receive them.
Which marketplaces does the extension list to?
Poshmark, Mercari, Grailed, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace, which have no public listing API. eBay and Depop are connected directly through their own APIs instead, so those two need no extension at all.
What about Android and Safari?
There is nothing to link to on this page yet. In the meantime GradeThread installs as a web app from any modern browser, including Chrome on Android and Safari on iPad: open gradethread.com and use your browser's Install or Add to Home Screen. It gets its own icon and opens without the browser chrome.
Do I need an account before I install?
No, but you will need one to grade anything. Signing up is free and takes a minute, and you can do it from inside the app.

Install it, then grade something

The free plan includes three grades a month, so you can put a real garment through it before you decide anything.
