How GradeThread Works
GradeThread turns garment photos into a standardized condition grade in four steps: you upload front, back, label, and detail photos; our Claude Vision AI scores the item across five weighted factors; you receive a 1.0–10.0 grade with a detailed report; and you share a verified certificate buyers can scan to confirm condition. The whole process takes minutes and produces a consistent, objective grade you can attach to any listing.
Four steps from photos to a verified grade
1. Upload garment photos
Photograph the item front, back, and label, plus at least one detail shot. Clear, well-lit photos on a plain background give the most accurate grade.
2. AI analyzes 5 weighted factors
Claude Vision inspects fabric condition, structural integrity, cosmetic appearance, functional elements, and odor & cleanliness, then combines them into one standardized 1.0–10.0 score.
3. Get your grade and report
Within minutes you receive an overall condition grade, a tier label (NWT through Poor), a factor-by-factor breakdown, and a written summary explaining the result.
4. Share a verified certificate
Every grade gets a public certificate with a unique URL and QR code that buyers can scan to verify condition — building trust and reducing returns.
The five grading factors
Every grade is a weighted blend of five factors, so a single flaw never sinks an otherwise excellent item — and condition stays comparable across sellers.
| Factor | Weight |
|---|---|
| Fabric Condition | 30% |
| Structural Integrity | 25% |
| Cosmetic Appearance | 20% |
| Functional Elements | 15% |
| Odor & Cleanliness | 10% |
