How to Grade Appliqué Damage on Vintage Clothing: Lifting, Thread Loss, and the Poor-Tier Line

Appliqué and embroidery damage grades on two things: whether the motif is still structurally attached, and whether the thread work has enough integrity left to survive normal handling. A lifted edge you can re-tack is a Cosmetic Appearance note.
